Tasuketsu episode 1 recap
The anime starts with Saneatsu expressing how bummed out he is to attend computer class. He then receives a message on his PC asking whether he is looking at the screen. He calls the teacher to check it out, but it is written off as a screen saver. The next day, when he wakes up, he is shocked to see how quiet everywhere is, and he goes to look for his best friend.
However, upon arriving at his house, he finds him dead. Saneatsu then receives a call from Kazuhiko to come to school. The protagonist meets the other students and discovers they are the last group alive in the school. The group learns that they are now in a survival game called Tasuketsu, which the emperor organizes. It reveals that there are still a million people left alive in Japan. They will be given a set of daily questions where the people who side with the majority die.
With no time to process, they receive their first mission: find a blue postbox or red laptop to submit a question. The winner of the game will get a chance to meet the emperor. Saneatsu then tries to devise a plan with Saaya concerning their next move. Fortunately, he finds a privilege card.
However, his joy is short-lived as a member of their group, Sudo, finds a gun and tries to kill everyone. They manage to escape but fail to see the post box or laptop. The question is then revealed: “Male or female?” Saaya and Saneatsu then promise each other that the person who lives should take down the emperor. The episode ends with the protagonist collapsing and Saaya grieving.
