Kaiju No. 8 Chapter 110 Recap & Spoilers

Kaiju No. 8 chapter 110 was officially released on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The installment continued the events of the previous chapter, in which young Mina and Kafka vowed to wipe out the Kaiju together. This confirms the long-awaited hope for the pair to fight the Kaiju together.

The installment shows the Kaiju No. 2 and Kaiju No. 9 hybrid standing tall before Mina and Kafka. Mina announces the beginning of the process to neutralize Kaiju No. 9 as Soshiro Hoshina, Keiji Itami, Juzo Nogizaka, and other members of the Defense Force observe them on screen along with the rest of the country.

As Mina and Kafka hold their ground, No. 9 launches a double attack on them, using No. 2’s powers. Fortunately, Mina and Kafka dodge the attack, prompting Kafka to tell Mina about two techniques No. 9 is unaware of.

He plans to hit the Kaiju’s core before he figures out those techniques. However, he signals to Mina that if he fails to damage No. 9’s core, Mina should provide covering and strip away his shield.

Mina readily understands and asks Kafka to put everything he has into hitting the enemy’s core. Kafka hits No. 9, but he remains unscathed. This prompts Mina to shoot him, as she had planned with Kafka. At the same time, Kafka punches the Kaiju’s core, leaving him screeching in pain.

What happened in Kaiju No. 8 chapter 110?

Kafka and Mina finally stand by each other’s side

Konomi Okonogi comments on Mina’s powerful support fire, calling it “incredibly precise.” The Defense Force agrees that there is a vast difference between her approach when fighting with Kafka and that with Hoshina. As such, the Defense Force witnesses a completely new and different side of Mina.

Jugo Nogizaka remarks that having support can change things and encourages Kafka to use momentum and force in his favor. The focus returns to the battlefield where Kafka and No. 9 face each other. No. 2’s shock wave is reported, while No. 9 launches a blow on Kafka.

The Defense Force reports an unusual shock wave

However, Kafka dodges the attack, prompting Keiji Itami to recall how Kafka experienced fighting No. 2 due to his fight with Isao Shinomiya. Amid the chaotic battle, a new shock wave is reported when the Kaiju attacks Kafka, which is revealed to belong to neither No. 2 nor No. 9.

This is when it is deduced that No. 9 houses several Kaiju within him. Mina reports the dreadful news to Kafka and asks him to tread carefully. She warns him about new tricks up Kaiju No. 9’s sleeve. Mina jumps high to shoot the enemy while Kafka prepares to hit him.

They try to push through but to no avail. In the process, Mina gets heavily injured, and the Defense Force comments on how even No. 8, aka Kafka’s powers combined with Mina’s, seem insufficient.

Kafka trains with Gen Narumi

When everyone believes the pair is out of options, Kafka recalls how Gen Narumi and he could not lay a scratch on the Kaiju in their earlier confrontation. Moreover, all the training, during which he learned new combat techniques, had to be kept a secret.

However, he prepares to unveil a technique he learned on his own and kept hidden from everyone, including Hoshina. A flashback scene shows Kafka in the training room with Gen Narumi, where Kafka goes against his Kaiju urge to kill and learns to control it for one minute.

Kafka acknowledges the mysterious Larva’s urge to kill and promises to set him free. However, he asks it to lend his strength to let Kafka do so. The chapter ends with a cliffhanger showing Kafka’s new and formidable form, preparing to unleash its beastly attack.
