Following its season finale last month, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is already in the works, with Crunchyroll confirming that production on the next season has begun.
In a brief announcement, Crunchryoll also revealed that it would be also be airing the second season whenever it does come out, as no official release information is available. In celebration of the announcement, Crunchyroll also shared a brief teaser video for the news, and confirmed that the dub for the Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 finale will be available on July 13, 2024, on the streaming service.

What do we know about Kaiju No. 8 Season 2?
Alongside the news of Season 2 being in the works, the video also revealed that Koki Uchiyama will be joining the cast as Gen Narumi, captain of the First Division Defense Force. While it’s unclear exactly what the second season will cover, it’s likely to adapt the “The Compatible User” arc from the manga.
“In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity,” reads the synopsis for the anime.
