Following Hakuri’s request for Chihiro to cut down his father in the previous chapter, Kagurabachi chapter 38 will see Chihiro face off against Kyora. The chapter may also show Shiba’s whereabouts as he faces off against the remaining Tao members.

The latest chapter begins with Shiba praising Hakuri for being able to use two different abilities. The former asks Chihiro if he left Hakuri with Soya, believing this would happen. However, he explains that if he tries to halt his determination, they won’t be able to be equal allies. Elsewhere, the remaining Tou members wake up and rush to stop Chihiro from reaching the storehouse.
However, as Chihiro opens the door, he finds it has already been destroyed. The Tao members arrive, despairing that they have been protecting a damaged door. Chihiro thinks about Tenri and wonders if his sacrifice was in vain. Kyora revealed that Soya’s death wasn’t for nothing as it was a means of revealing Chihiro’s cards. The remaining Tou members then rush Chihiro to ensure Tenri’s death isn’t in vain.
Later, the chapter shows Hakuri entering the auction room. Kyora realizes his arrival means he has figured out exactly how the storehouse works. Kyora’s expressions are bittersweet. He wishes he had noticed Hakuri’s talents earlier but is already resolute that they are enemies.
Hakuri infiltrates his subspace and sends Chihiro inside. Kyora tries to attack him inside, but Chihiro is able to draw out the power of his cloud Gouger one more time and destroy the shackles. Chihiro recovers his original blade, Enten. The chapter ends with Haakuri telling Chihiro to cut down his father.
