Demon Slayer season 4 episode 5 recap: Sanemi and Genya’s relationship highlighted
Demon Slayer season 4 episode 5, “I Even Ate Demons”, begins with Tanjiro’s training under the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji. Tanjiro and other demon slayers find the flexibility training difficult, but he gets through it and moves on to the training under the next Hashira, Obanai Iguro.
Having a bitter attitude towards Tanjiro, Obanai treats Tanjiro harshly. To train him, he asks Tanjiro to hit him through the gaps between various demon slayers tied up in a dark room. After a few days, Tanjiro somehow cuts through Obanai’s haori, completing the training.
Hence, Tanjiro moves on to train under Sanemi Shinazugawa. Zenitsu, Tanjiro, and other demon slayers find the training exhausting. However, the training is interrupted when Tanjiro overhears a conversation between Sanemi and Genya.
Tanjiro defends Genya when Sanemi is about to attack him, which leads to an unanticipated brawl between Tanjiro and the Hashira. Tanjiro is, therefore, banned from training under Sanemi. Zenitsu and Tanjiro then visit Gyomei Himejima to train under him.
