One Piece: What Is Shiro Shiro No Mi?

One Piece has introduced a surprising number of devil fruits into the series, each serving its own unique purpose. While some devil fruits can turn the most skilled fighters into absolute powerhouses, others can make the user a one-person wrecking crew. Shiro Shiro no Mi falls into the latter category. The fruit was responsible for Capone Bege’s fame and infamy in the One Piece series.

A Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, Shiro Shiro no Mi, grants its user the ability to become a living fortress. While that may sound underwhelming compared with other Devil Fruits, its usefulness shows in its application. The fruit turns its user into a living fortress, giving them canon ports, drawbridges, and various rooms inside their body. With the Shiro Shiro no Mi, the user can store living people inside by shrinking them.

Capone Bege fully utilized this feature during the Cake Island arc as he held covert meetings under Big Mom’s nose. It is almost impossible to detect; if the user does not use any of the castle’s external features, the internal surroundings will remain unseen. This is vital for infiltration missions, as you can sneak your private army into any enemy stronghold.

The devil fruit also allows the user to increase his size, taking on the size of a fortress in human form. In this form, Capone could withstand Big Mom’s onslaught of attacks for a short time. While the Shiro Shiro no Mi Devil Fruit is undeniably useful, it isn’t without its drawbacks. If the user inhales toxic gas, his insides will be filled with the gas, potentially harming his comrades. Despite not having any offensive capability, Shiro Shiro no Mi can turn the tide of any fight, making it one of the most influential devil fruits in One Piece.
