Dabi is introduced as a primary antagonist in My Hero Academia and a member of the League of Villains. He can manipulate blue flames that are way hotter than Shoto or Endeavour’s flames.
However, after chapter 387, Dabi awakened his Ice Quirk as well. Dabi pushes past his limits during his final battle against Endeavour, fueled by agony and hatred. Entering a self-destruct state triggers a rare phenomenon that awakens his latent ice powers.
Does Dabi have an Ice quirk in My Hero Academia?
During his fight against Endeavour in My Hero Academia chapter 387, Dabi is about to die, which is a turning point for his character. Endeavour notices that something strange has awakened within Dabi. He goes into a “Hysterical State,” an extremely rare phenomenon that only surfaces when the quirk user is about to die. This results in his latent Ice Quirk.
These ice powers continuously resided within him. His mother, Rei, could manipulate ice, and this ability was hidden within him. However, it finally surfaced during the Final War Arc as he was about to self-destruct. Dabi could also use fire and ice powers, similar to Shoto Todoroki.
How does Dabi’s fire quirk work in My Hero Academia?
Dabi can create flames at an insanely high temperature, which explains why his flames are blue. His body is burnt from the damage inflicted by his own Quirk, but that doesn’t stop him from using his powers effortlessly. Dabi doesn’t engage in close-quarter combats because he doesn’t need to.
His Quirk allows him to launch devastating attacks on his enemies from a distance. His flames are perfect for flamethrower attacks, practically disintegrating his opponents. He can even spawn walls of flame to defend himself from attacks. As flames spread quickly, it is difficult to evade his attacks in proximity. He can also manipulate his flames to propel him in the air and move swiftly during battles.
