Naruto is one of the most successful Shonen series in the anime genre. However, many deem that the female ninjas or Kuniochi characters in the series received less attention. Although the series follows the journey of a male ninja, the female characters have made a significant impact on the overarching plot.
Several of them are so powerful that they can fight toe-to-toe against the main characters. Despite the lack of screen time, this article looks at some of the strongest Kunoichi from the Naruto franchise.
5. Hinata Hyuga
Hailing from one of the most powerful clans in Konohagakure, Hinata became a ninja because it was expected of her. After Naruto Shippuden, she married Naruto and became a mother of two children, Boruto and Himawari. Audiences might think that she is not that strong. However, one fact that must not be forgotten is her Hyuga blood.
She possesses the Byakugan but rarely uses it, though her proficiency in Dojutsu is immaculate. Thus, it would be wrong to assume she is weak because she does not fight villains. Also, both of Hinata’s kids and her husband are scared of getting in trouble with her for a reason.
4. Tsunade Senju
She is the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju, one of the greatest shinobis of all time. Trained under the third Hokage, she showed potential. In fact, she is one of the Legendary Sannin and later became the fifth Hokage of the Konohagakure.
Tsunade was one of the first to crack Madara Uchiha’s Susanoo. This is not a small feat, as Susanoo’s armor is said to be the ultimate defense. Prior to that, Tsunade brought about a significant revolution in medical ninjutsu after the Second Great Ninja War. In fact, all five nations began following the laws she formulated for medical ninjutsu.
3. Konan
A Kunoichi from Amagakure and one of the founders of the Akatsuki, Konan is a formidable shinobi. She uses a unique ninjutsu that utilizes paper manipulation. She can make wings and weapons and suffocate her targets with paper.
Despite her formidable skills, Konan met defeat at the hands of Obito Uchiha. However, her downfall transpired only after a grueling confrontation, compelling Obito to resort to Izanagi and alter the tide of their battle.
2. Sakura Haruno
Starting as weak compared to her comrades, Sakura evolved immensely later in the series. She is excellent at medical ninjutsu and is considered one of the best Kunoichi among the Five Great Nations.
Sakura has immaculate control over her Chakra, which helps her to manipulate it to specific parts of her body to enhance her power. She is also able to reinforce her hands with Chakra before landing devastating punches on her enemies. Sakura is powerful enough to go up against some of the strongest characters in the Naruto franchise.
1. Kaguya Otsutsuki
The Otsutsuki clan consists of the strongest individuals in the series, and Kaguya is no exception. She was one of the pivotal characters who gave birth to two human children who are capable of using Chakra.
She is proficient with all five Elemental Releases. And if that was not enough, Kaguya bears the Byakugan, Rinne Sharingan, and a Kekkei Mora unique to her race. She is so powerful that her strength dwarfed Madara’s Ten-Tails Jinchuriki form. She was faster than the Yellow Flash, Minato, who is said to be the fastest shinobi throughout history.
