On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the official website of Studio Colorido released a new trailer and visual teaser for the new anime film My Oni Girl. Additionally, the trailer revealed the cast members and theme songs for the upcoming anime film.
My Oni Girl will be Studio Colorido’s fourth feature film, following the success of Penguin Highway, A Whisker Away, and Drifting Home.
My Oni Girl Anime: Everything you need to know
Studio Colorido announced that their fourth anime feature film, My Oni Girl, will be released on May 24. The anime will be released in Japanese theaters and streamed on Netflix on May 24. Additionally, ZUTOMAYO will perform the film’s insert song, “Blues in the Closet,” and the theme song, “Uso Janai.”
The anime features an all-star cast, including Kenshō Ono, who will play Hiiragi Yatsuse, and Miyu Tomita, who will play Tsumugi. Also, the rest of the voice cast includes Shintarō Asanuma as Ryūji Takahashi, Aya Yamane as Mio Takahashi, Shirō Saitō as Naoya Yamashita, Hisako Kyouda as Gozen, Mitsuho Kambe as Kaede Yatsuse, Noriko Hidaka as Shion, and Shōzō Sasaki as Yōichi Tanimoto.
As for staff, A Whisker Away co-director Tomotaka Shibayama will direct and co-write the screenplay with Yūko Kakihara. Masafumi Yokota and Sunao Chikaoka will handle character design, while Mina Kubota will compose the music.

Netflix will stream the anime and describe it as follows: “Yearning to get along with others and not be disliked, first-year high school student Hiiragi finds himself unable to say no whenever someone requests something of him. One summer day, while unsuccessfully carrying out yet another request, he encounters an oni girl named Tsumugi, who has come to the human world to search for her mother. She does whatever she pleases and is the complete opposite of Hiiragi. Studio Colorido presents this fantasy tale of youth that unfolds over one wintery summer.”
