The Banished Former Hero episode 4 recap
The episode begins with Riese, Allen, and Beatrice investigating a village for demonic activity using a tip from one of Noelle’s clients. The villagers are shocked that they have visitors but welcome them as they prepare for their festival. At night, they check out the graveyard where the rumors originated. However, they find the village head following them.
After much investigation, they dropped him off and returned him to the inn. The episode then shows Riese’s past with her uncle, whom she treated like a second father. She wakes up crying, but Allen arrives just in time to contact her.
On the festival day, Allen notices something weird and investigates while Riese chases a silhouette resembling her uncle Alfred. She is shocked to see her uncle alive and tries to embrace him, but he pulls away. He reveals Riese’s father’s plans to kill her and everyone with special abilities as he perceives them as threats. He then tries to kill her and is revealed to be possessed by a demon.
After freeing Alfred from the demon’s control, Allen promises to protect Riese. Thankful for his promise, he passes away peacefully. Meanwhile, the demon reports his failure to the Westfelts, who are not pleased with their string of losses. The episode ends with Riese receiving word of the late General Cyril’s return.
