Mission: Yozakura Family episode 3, “Feeling,” aired on Sunday, April 21, 2024. After completing his first mission, Asano realizes the danger Mutsumi is in and requests training to help her as her husband.
The episode begins with Asano having a dream in which Mutsumi is kidnapped, and he is powerless to stop them. He meets Futaba to ask her to train him, but she declines, telling him it wouldn’t be easy for ordinary people. Asano begs her to reconsider, and she gives him a proposition. She tells him to survive in the mansion for one month, and then he can start training. He agrees; as he walks out of the room, a trapdoor opens, and she tells him the house is filled with traps, which he has to survive.
He is then introduced to the Yozakura family’s activities, from exploding alarm clocks to poisoned meals. However, his biggest challenge yet proves to be the bathroom, which he couldn’t find a way to bypass. Shion tells Taiyou that he has to be accepted by the mansion to disarm the traps, and it would usually take two years for a normal person. He goes to school with Mutsumi wearing a 30kg shirt, which doesn’t allow him to respond much to people.

Later that night, he sees Mutsumi sleeping on a table and covers her with a blanket. He then goes outside to practice his marksmanship. Mutsuri arrives and invites him to have tea with her. She tells him not to be too anxious that he has been protecting her for a long time. The episode then reveals her past, as she and Taiyo were nothing more than neighbors at first.
But after saving her from bullies at school who try to cut her hair for being two distinct colors, she comes to appreciate him. After a while, Taiyou gets used to the Yozakura family mansion and skillfully avoids the traps. He is greeted by Shion and Shinzo, who are pleased with his progress so far. He then goes on to meet Nanao to continue his training on poison.
The next day, Taiyo has breakfast with the rest of the family. Mutsumi is impressed by how far he has come in just three weeks. However, after drinking poisoned milk, he rushes to the bathroom, which he still has problems unlocking. Kengo alerts everyone that he has fainted, and they rush him to the infirmary. Futaba tears off the fake skin on his body to reveal the injuries he had been concealing.
She tells him that people who can’t care for themselves will never be able to care for others. Before leaving, she gives him a book on code-breaking. She can’t hide her excitement since someone like Taiyou, who loves Mutsumi so much, would be the perfect person to protect her. Later, he is finally able to unlock the bathroom and is now recognized as a full-fledged member of the family.
