An Archdemon’s Dilemma episode 3 recap
The episode starts with a glimpse into Zagan’s past. Nephy and Zagan then have breakfast. Due to only one chair being available, she is forced to sit on his lap and share the food with him. While cleaning, she sees Zagan researching sorcery, which they compare to elven magic. Nephy reveals she has no talent for magic. Zagan then tells her his reasons for learning magic. However, they are interrupted by Lady Chastille and the knights of the church, who come to attack Zagan.
The latter manages to fend them off, but Chastille, sensing no malice in his attacks, becomes angry. She asks him why someone like him had to learn something like sorcery. He replies, telling her some people can’t survive without it. Chastille then offers him a chance to save himself by faking his death, but they are interrupted by Nephy’s arrival. One of the soldiers attacks her, claiming she is a supporter of darkness, but Zagan injures himself, saving her.
Nephy, angered by the sight of his blood, calls upon the trees to attack the knights, almost killing them. Zagan calms her down, and they both retreat into the castle. Nephy tells Zagan about her past as a cursed child for being able to use mysticism. Zagan tells her to be happy, telling her he can’t imagine his life without her in it anymore. The episode ends with her crying on Zagan’s shoulder, overwhelmed by emotions.
