Oblivion Battery episode 1 recap
The episode starts with introducing Kei Kaname and Haruka Kiyomine as they dominated the entire junior league together. They earned the title “diabolical battery” because their plays scared many players into quitting. They were sure to go professional. However, Kei had amnesia and forgot everything, including baseball, which forced them to go to Kotesashi High, a school without a baseball team, to escape the drama.
On their first day, they meet Yamada, one of the players who quit baseball because of them. After learning of Kei’s condition, he sympathizes with him and Kiyomine. Elsewhere, they are asked to sign up for the newly set up baseball team, and Kiyomine signs all of them up. Two seniors of the baseball club approach them and challenge Yamada and Kiyomine to a match.
The latter is mocked for his pitches as he matches them to Yamada’s skill level. Kei tells Yamada to swap with him, even though he has no idea how to wear the cover. Kiyomine and Kei manage to pull off one of their pitches, which scares the seniors, forcing them to run. The episode ends with Kei telling Yamada and Kiyomine he isn’t playing as it hurt his hand.
