Since two episodes remain in the season, the beginning of the First Class Mage Exam’s third round seems rather unlikely in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 27. Conversely, the teaser photos hint at a drama-centric episode featuring a sad Fern and Himmel from when he was a little kid. If the third round begins in the upcoming episode, it will highlight the challenges the mages will face while clearing Serie’s test.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 26 recap
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 26 concluded the much-awaited battle of the mages against their clones. The highlight of this episode remained Frieren and Fern defeating Frieren’s replica.
The other mages acted upon Denken’s plan and continued a face-off against the replicas by choosing their weakest matchups. Though this seemed uncomplicated to the mages initially, Sense’s replica posed a fatal threat to them.
As such, Sense’s replica attacked Richter and Lawine, forcing them to use the golem to escape. Denken, Übel, and Land arrived at the spot, though late, and Übel confidently barged in to defeat the clone using her Reelseiden easily. This feat and Sense’s clear apprehension of Übel’s skills confirmed that Übel was not a force to be trifled with.
Elsewhere, the other mages continued fighting the replicas to buy time for Frieren and Fern to take the former’s replica down. Eventually, the worn-out mages were relieved when Frieren defeated her replica using an unforeseen spell and destroyed Spiegel. Sense then announced that the remaining mages had successfully cleared the First Class Mage Exam’s second round.
