On Tuesday, March 13, 2024, the official website of Fuminori Teshima’s An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride released the second main trailer of its anime. The trailer revealed the release date, cast, and staff members.
The anime is based on Teshima’s famous light novel of the same name. Hako Itagaki released the manga adaptation of the light novel series in February 2018.
An Archdemon’s Dilemma anime: Everything you need to know
Fuminori Teshima’s highly anticipated anime will be part of the 2024 anime spring lineup. The anime will be released on April 4 on Tokyo MX at 24:30 JST (meaning April 5 at 12:30 a.m. JST). Reportedly, The Brow Beat will perform the opening song, “Wakaranani Ai,” while Sayaka Yamamoto will perform the ending song, “Blue Star.”
The additional cast members include Hana Hishikawa as Chastille Lillqvist and Kishō Taniyama as Barbatos. The film will also feature Akane Misaka as Foll, Ayasa Itō as Manuela, and Tetsu Inada as Raphael Hyurandell. Toshiyuki Morikawa will narrate the series. Previously announced cast members include Yūsuke Kobayashi, who will play Zagan, and Kana Ichinose, who will voice Nephy.
The main staff includes Hiroshi Ishiodori, who will direct the anime at Brains Base, and Keiji Gotoh, who will supervise the animation. Aya Yoshinaga will handle the scripts, Yuma Yamaguchi will compose the soundtrack, and Mina Ōsawa will design the characters.
Releasing the novel in English, J-Novel Club describes the story as follows: “Zagan is feared as an evil sorcerer. Both socially awkward and foulmouthed, he spends his days studying sorcery while beating down any trespassers within his domain. One day, he’s invited to a dark auction, and what he finds there is a beautiful elven slave girl, Nephy.”
The synopsis continues, “Having fallen in love at first sight, Zagan uses up his entire fortune to purchase her. But being a poor conversationalist, he has no idea how to properly interact with her. Thus, the awkward cohabitation of a sorcerer who has no idea how to convey his love and his slave who yearns for her master but has no idea how to appeal to him begins.”
