The Fuji TV Anime Lineup Press Conference 2024 event took place on March 11, 2024, where it was confirmed that Rurouni Kenshin season 2 is scheduled to air in Fall 2024. The series will be broadcast on the channel’s Noitamina programming block. It was also confirmed that the upcoming season would follow a two-cour run.
As of now, there are yet to be any visuals or promotional teasers for the renewals. However, audiences can expect more details about the second season to be released soon. It’s also expected that any major changes in or additions to the series’ staff and cast will be confirmed in the coming months.
Rurouni Kenshin season 2 will air in two cours
It has been officially announced that Rurouni Kenshin season 2 will start airing in Japan in October 2024. It’s also confirmed that the upcoming instalment will run for two cours, like the first season. Crunchyroll will be streaming the series in its original Japanese version and English dubbed as it did with season 1.
Soma Saito will be resuming his role as Kenshin Himura, with Rie Takahashi returning as Kaoru Kamiya. Taku Yashiro voices Sagara Sanosuke, while Makoto Koichi voices Myojin Yahiko, which concludes the main cast. The additional cast includes Yuma Uchida as Shinomori Aoshi, Saori Onishi as Megumi Takani, and Satoshi Hino as Hajime Saito. Further information about additional cast members will be revealed in the coming weeks or months.
Hideyo Yamamoto supervised the series’s first season at Liden Films studios, with Terumi Nishii in charge of character design. Hideyuki Kurata wrote the series scripts. The first season’s music was composed by Yu Takami. Although the staff members have not been officially confirmed yet, the core staff will also return in the upcoming season.
