Mashle season 2 episode 9 was aired on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. JST. The episode was titled “Wahlberg Baighn and the Magician of Darkness,” hinting at an epic clash for Wahlberg. Despite most people thinking the Magician of Darkness was Innocent Zero, fans were shocked to find out it was his old mentor, Adam Jobs.
The episode continued from where the previous episode left off, with Innocent Zero preparing to use his forbidden spell, Timez. The spell saw innocent Zero whip out a chained coffin with a clock counting down until its release. When the coffin was opened, it was revealed to be holding the reanimated corpse of Adam Jobs, Wahlberg, and Zero’s formal mentor. Adam Jobs is the legendary magic user who created the Magic Bureau and was also responsible for systemizing magic theory.
Although Innocent Zero specialized in chrono magic, he acquired magic capable of restoring life from flesh fragments. The scene was nostalgic for Naruto fans, who would instantly recall Orochimaru’s reanimation jutsu. However, unlike Orochimaru’s reanimation jutsu, Timez cannot restore the mind of a dead person. Instead, the corpse was controlled by Necross Mance, a member of the criminal canes and a dark magic enthusiast.
Innocent Zero had restored Adam close to his prime, meaning his magic power was almost unmatched. Adam’s Dark magic could erase anyone or any spell it came in contact with, but Wahlberg fended him off with his space magic. Wahlberg unleashed a powerful spell called Space Sacrifice to erase Adam Jobs and Necross Mance, leaving him face-to-face with Innocent Zero again.

Mashle season 2 episode 9 ending: Mash defeats Cell War
After Cell’s shocking revelation, Mash asks if he is one of his brothers. Cell tells him no and reveals himself as a clone created by adding Zero’s blood to a corpse. He calls Mash’s life worthless, telling him it would be put to good use as being part of Zero.
Mash interrupts him with a stern punch, telling him to come on. Infuriated by his disrespect, Cell reveals his third line and unleashes his wand’s true form. He attacks Mash with his four blades, but he dodges them successfully.
Cell tells him that if he keeps retreating, he will fire his spears at the students and destroy the school. However, Mash is able to trick Cell by running around the school in seconds before sneaking up on him for a chokehold. The episode ends with Mash declaring he would choke him out for as long as he was a threat.
