Solo Leveling episode 9 starts with a small fight sequence featuring Sung Jinwoo and the other survivors of the double dungeon. Alongside them are three criminal Hunters and Kang Taeshik, who are seen fighting goblins inside the dungeon.
His old teammates are impressed at Jinwoo’s growth. The group splits into three parts after stumbling upon a three-way diverging path. The sequences then shift to Kim Sangshik, who feels ashamed of his actions and wants to apologize to Jin-Woo. They end up crossing paths with Taeshik and the three criminal Hunters.
The episode then shifts to Taeshik and the three criminal Hunters. A flashback scene unveils that Taeshik was hired to eliminate these three hunters due to their crimes. The sudden scream takes aback Jinwoo, Joohee, and Song Chiyul. They find the victims upon rushing to the scene. Kim’s injuries are too grave, and Joohee wasn’t able to save his life despite trying her best. He apologizes to Jinwoo with his breath.
Everyone becomes disoriented from the incident that happened a few moments ago, and Taeshik uses this opportunity to launch a surprise attack on Joohee. Jinwoo had already anticipated this attack, thanks to his high perception skills. He quickly intervenes and stops his stealth charge.
The criminal’s true intentions are finally revealed. He attempts to eliminate the remaining party members. Taeshik is a B-Rank Assassin, and he outclasses his opponents. However, the protagonist saves the day by stopping Taeshik.
Jinwoo and Taeshik fight against each other. His opponent’s Murderous Intent triggers the System, resulting in Jin-Woo eliminating the imminent threat. He finally gains the upper hand by poisoning Taeshik. He heals himself using Full Recovery and fatally wounds Taeshik with his Murderous Intent.
Solo Leveling episode 9 ending explained
Solo Leveling episode 9 ends with Kang Taeshik dying. He also states that Jinwoo’s power will have to surface sooner or later. After his death, the protagonist moves into the boss chamber and defeats the dungeon.
The episode later spans to the three survivors handing over the theil report regarding the dungeon to Woo Jinchul. Song Chiyul and Joohee try to take responsibility for Taeshik’s death to protect Jinwoo’s secret. However, Jinchul seems far from convinced and continues to be suspicious of Jinwoo. The episode ends with Jinwoo realizing just how powerful Woo Jinchul is as an A-Rank Hunter. He is no match in front of his immense power and abilities.
