Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! episode 8 starts with Minami arriving and following Rena and Tsubasa on their date. Minami gets jealous seeing both Tsubasa and Rena wearing matching kimonos. Meanwhile, Rena has a good time on the date when she learns more about Tsubasa. The latter then gives her the doll he won at an arcade game. Rather than being jealous of them, Minami starts to feel proud of Tsubasa, who is doing his best in an unfamiliar situation.
Rena and Tsubasa decide to watch a movie, and she starts to cry at an emotional scene. Rena then learns why Tsubasa moves to Hokkaido after a fight with his parents. Rena reveals that she hardly gets praised even though she works hard. However, she is thankful to him for being there and understanding her.
She then asks Tsubasa if he has a girlfriend. He tells her he doesn’t have one but says how happy he is to be in Hokkaido. Tsubasa goes on to say he is happy with all the wonderful friends he has made who make him feel special. Minami finally reveals that she is overwhelmed with emotions due to Tsubasa’s words.
Minami introduces herself to Rena, admitting she was a big fan of her. Rena gets emotional as it is one of the few times she has been acknowledged for her hard work. Suddenly, Minami’s mother arrives, inviting everyone to a yakiniku party to celebrate her promotion. After the party, Minami asks Tsubasa whether he and Rena are together. Upon learning they aren’t, she then asks him to take her on a date next time.
