On March 1, 2024, the official website and Twitter for Mayu Murata’s Honey Lemon Soda confirmed its anime adaptation. The series will reportedly air sometime in 2024, with summer being the most likely possibility.

Aside from the anime adaptation, the announcement also revealed the staff members alongside a visual teaser. However, there has been no information on the release date and cast.
Hiroshi Nishikiori, known for his work on A Certain Magical Index, is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Akiko Waba is in charge of the series composition, while Aimi Tanaka is overseeing the character design. They will be joined by Akira Kosemura, who is responsible for the series’ composition.
The popular manga has a cumulative circulation of over 12 million copies as of February 2024. In 2016, Shueisha compiled the first volume, and the series will publish its 25th Volume on April 24. In 2021, the manga was nominated for best series at the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards.
As for the plot, Yen Press describes it as: “Middle school left Uka Ishimori with nothing but scars—to the point where she’s forgotten how to laugh or cry or even say “hello.” But a chance reencounter with a boy with lemon-coloured hair invigorates her, giving her hope that maybe, just maybe, life can be that much sweeter if she finally reaches out for help.”
