Like any other dungeon-based Manhwa, healing items and potions are very important, and Solo Leveling is no different. However, throughout the series, no potion proved more potent than the Elixir of Life.
In Solo Leveling Episode 7, we see the first glimpse of the demon castle as Sung Jin-woo battles Cerebrus, its gatekeeper. It also hints at Sung Jin-woo’s ultimate goal, which is to cure his mom.
The Elixir of Life: Solo Leveling’s Miracle Drug
Solo Leveling Episode 7 Highlighted one of the biggest parts of the Solo Leveling story, “The Demon Castle.” The episode also gives information on Sung Jin-woo’s mother, who suffers from eternal slumber. Upon defeating the gatekeeper, Cerberus, Jin-Woo is introduced to the key elements needed for a cure, The Elixir of Life.
The Elixir of Life is a consumable potion crafted by the system. It remains a beacon of hope in his quest to cure his mother. In the manhwa, the elixir is the only known cure for the dreaded disease, “Eternal Slumber.”
Eternal slumber is a supernatural sleeping disorder that afflicts those intolerant to mana. The disease was caused by the introduction of mana into the world through dungeons, causing individuals to fall into comas. The disease also gradually drained them of their life force until life support devices sustained them.
In the manhwa, Jinwoo successfully crafts the elixir after defeating Baran, the ruler of the Demon Castle. He then uses the potion to instantly cure her disease and any other health problems sustained during her coma.
However, the elixir of life had another terrifying effect; it had the ability to increase the lifespan of others. He uses this on Yoo Jinho’s father, curing him of his disease and increasing his lifespan. In the new timeline, he also uses this to extend Go Gun-Hee’s life by several years.
