On February 20, 2024, Micro Magazine announced that Tsukikage and Chyko’s Let This Grieving Soul Retire light novel series is getting an anime adaptation this year. In addition to that, the announcement also revealed the teaser, leading cast, and the staff.

Let This Grieving Soul Retire anime: Everything you need to know
As mentioned earlier, Micro Magazine unveiled that Tsukikage and Chyko’s series will get an anime adaptation. The announcement also revealed the cast members alongside a teaser visual and video. Moreover, they released several celebratory illustrations to celebrate the anime announcement.
The cast members include Krai Andrey, who will be voiced by Kensho Ono. He is known for his stellar performance as Akutagawa Ryunosuke in Bungo Stray Dogs and Nara Shikadai in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Joining him will be Miyu Kubota, who will voice Tino Shade.
As for the main staff, High-Rise Invasion’s director, Masahiro Takata, will direct Let This Grieving Soul Retire at Zero-G. Both Yusuke Isouchi and Shingo Fujisaki will work on the character design. Hideki Shirane is the series composer, while Risa Taima joins as the art director. Aside from them, famous composer Ryohei Sataka is the music composer.

As for the plot, J-Novel summarizes it in the following way: “It’s the golden age for treasure hunters—adventurers hungry for wealth, fame, power, and glory, who risk their lives in treasure vaults throughout the world. ‘Let’s become treasure hunters.’ Krai and his childhood friends swore to become the greatest of them all, but that dream should have died the day.”
The synopsis continues, “Krai realized he wasn’t cut out for the job! Yet expectations continue to mount, right along with Krai’s fear for his life. While his childhood friends climb closer toward their dream, this grieving soul has one simple wish: to pack it all in and retire!”
