Solo Leveling has proven to be one of the greatest manhwa today, compelling readers with its immaculate plot, fights, and extraordinary protagonists. The story focuses on the life of Sung Jin-Woo, dubbed the “World’s Weakest Hunter.” Due to the fact that he could not clear an F-rank dungeon without getting injured. After a near-death experience in a double dungeon, he obtains an infinite leveling system that enables him to change his destiny and reach the peak of humanity’s power.
Sung Jin-woo acquired many abilities thanks to the system, but all paled in comparison to his Shadow Extraction technique. The Shadow Extraction skill allowed him to turn the souls of fallen warriors into powerful shadows; with this, he formed the most formidable attack force among all the hunters. After gaining access to the real shadow army, no force could match him, but with both armies combined. It raises the question of who is the strongest soldier in the army.
Let’s delve deeper into the strongest shadows of Sung Jin-Woo.
Tusk
Tusk, formerly known as Kargalan, was the Shaman leader of the High Orcs at the Hunter Guild dungeon. During the raid, the A-rank attack force was utterly defeated by Kargalan and his orcs. If it weren’t for Jin-woo, who disguised himself as a porter, the attack force would have been decimated.
After surrendering to the orcs, Sung Jin-Woo stepped up to save them with the help of his shadows. He overwhelmed Kargalan and the other orcs before turning him and some of his compatriots into shadows. Reborn under the new name Tusk, the orc, is highly proficient in magic. After being gifted the orb of avarice by Jin-woo, his magic skills become unparalleled.
Kamish
The dreaded dragon Kamish was one of the greatest disasters humanity had ever faced. Sung Jin-woo saw the dreadful dragon’s remains in the United States. Where he asked to see the dragon, much to the dismay of the officials. Sung Jin-Woo manages to use shadow extraction on Kamish, but due to the amount of time Kamish has been dead, the shadow extraction barely was only temporary. Before Kamish disappears, he acknowledges Jin-woo as a monarch and is saddened at the fact that he is unable to serve him.
Igris
Igris was the first subject Jin-Woo used shadow extraction on, formerly the guardian of the king’s throne. The dungeon proved to be extremely challenging for Jin-woo. After barely making it through, he arrives at the King’s throne, where Blood-red commander Igris meets him.
After a gruesome battle with Igris, he uses shadow extraction on Igris but fails twice, with only one chance left. He tells Igris not to protect an empty throne and to protect him, who is right at his front, to which Igris responds. Like the rest of the shadows, Igris continued to grow, finally reaching Marshal rank at the end of the series.
Beru
Beru was an instant fan favorite when he was introduced into the story. His character and amusing personality made him a joy to follow. Sung Jin-woo clashed with him during the “Jeju Island Arc.” The ant king was on par with many S-Rank Hunters as he quickly dispatched Goto Ryuji, the man hailed as Japan’s strongest hunter.
After being dominated by Jin-woo, the ant king experiences fear for the first time after his revival. Beru does his best to honor and do his Monarch. The two’s relationship and interaction are unique compared to the rest of the shadows. Beru was also one of the shadows who helped raise Jin-Woo’s son in the side stories.
Bellion
Bellion is the only shadow in this list that Sung Jin-woo didn’t turn himself. Previously the Right-hand man of the previous Shadow Monarch Ashborne, he was given as a gift to Jin-woo and the rest of the Shadow army. After acknowledging Jin-woo as the new shadow Monarch, he joins the ranks of his army. Bellion is the second in command in the Shadow army and its strongest combatant. He quickly defeats Beru, who challenges him for the top spot in the army.
