Kodakawa recently confirmed that The Rising of the Shield Hero TV anime is getting a fresh season, i.e., Season 4. Crunchyroll writes, “The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 was announced during a radio program today, with Naofumi VA Kaito Ishikawa doing the honors of confirming the production plans.”
The new season and a teaser visual for the anime have been announced. The visual, having a dark aesthetic, adds intrigue and raises anticipation about what the narrative has in store.

Crunchyroll is licensed to stream The Rising of the Shield Hero from Season 1 to Season 3. It describes the plot as such:
“Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero. Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?”
The anime has not yet disclosed much information, including the returning cast and staff members. However, the anime’s director, Hitoshi Haga, along with a few other cast members, took to Twitter to congratulate and celebrate the newly announced production.
