Oshi no Ko is a huge name in the industry this year. A popular anime, it is the adaptation of the manga by Aka Akasaka, the author behind Kaguya-sama. The story seems light-hearted at first glance, but it delves deeper into an emotionally complex story that will surely entice the viewers. The series’ protagonist is an idol, Ai Hoshino, who harbors a deep secret within her. A secret such that even all the fame and money in the world might not save Ai from catastrophe.
2. Heavenly Delusion – IMDb Rating 8
Heavenly Delusion is based on Masakazu Ishiguro’s successful manga. Produced by Production I.G., the series might have vibes similar to Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira. The plot revolves around children who are raised during an apocalyptic disaster and must fend for themselves in a dystopian world where they must find their purpose in life. This is a great anime as each episode adds complexity to the story, and character development happens through tracing of friendship, gender, and adolescence.
3. Hell’s Paradise Jigokuraku – IMDb Rating 8.2
Considered one of the series among the dark triad of modern shinen series, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is worth watching. It’s the cool dark fantasy action anime with supernatural ninjutsu horror thrillers. Based on Yuji Kaku’s popular manga, this is one of the highest-rated series on IMDb.
The story follows the life of Gabimaru, an infamous ninja assassin who can withstand immense pain and physical damage. He is relieved from execution on the condition that Gabimaru must find a magical elixir of eternal life on a dangerous exotic island known as Shinsenkyo. The series’ setting is plain, and the starting is a bit slow, but it’s undoubtedly an enjoyable ride.

Insomniacs After School is an adorable story where two sleepless teenagers bond with each other as they escape to their school’s astronomy observatory. Ganta Nakami is sharp and unpopular among his classmates due to sleep deprivation at night. He stumbles upon the school observatory, once used by the astronomy club.
Believing it’s the right place to nap, he crosses paths with Isaki Magari. A friendship develops between the young duo, and the two begin their journey as they bond over the most unlikely of things.
5. Angel Next Door – IMDb Rating 7.5
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is adapted from Saekisan’s light novel of the same name. The story revolves around Amane, the series’s protagonist, and his wholesome interaction with the girl everyone calls “Angel” at his school, Mahiru Shiina.
The seemingly perfect girl is quite ordinary, and Amane becomes the person she can be her true self with. Watch the friendship between these two characters as Amane’s next-door neighbor, Mahiru, takes an interest in caring for the clumsy and disorganized protagonist.
