Heavenly Delusion Episode 3 Recap

Kiruko tells Maru about their backstory from five years ago. Kiriko Takehaya was an electro-kart racer. Her brother, Haruki, often spent time with Robin, who leads a group of people who fight man-eaters. The siblings lived in an orphanage. During one of Kiriko’s races, Haruki notices a man-eater near the route the karts will take. He rushes to the location and tries to defeat it on its own. However, the man-eater started eating Haruki.

Kiriko eventually sees the man-eater and hits it with her kart. She sees Haruki and pulls the upper half of his body out of the monster. Haruki passes out, and the last thing he sees is his sister crying. After surgery, Haruki wakes up in his sister’s body. Haruki asks about the doctor, but the staff tells him the doctor left town after the operation. Four months later, Haruki leaves and tries to return to his normal life, but the orphanage and his loved ones are nowhere to be found.

Four years later, he meets Maru in Nakano. Maru has a hard time absorbing the story. Suddenly, a fish monster with multiple arms appears by the window. Meanwhile, Kuku watches Kona draw an image of a baby. Kuku then tells Tokio that a real baby doesn’t have a face.
