Uryu reads about the past Quincy extermination operation. Meanwhile, Yamamoto begins his all-out attack on Yhwach. Yamamoto is determined to put an end to Yhwach in their battle. In the middle of the battle, the flames around Soul Society suddenly disappear. The others notice this because their skin feels dry. Yamamoto unleashed his Bankai and revealed a scorched sword. He manages to cut Yhwach’s cape. The rest of his strong attacks are focused on the tip of his blade, which launches an explosive attack.
Yhwach counterattacks with his arrows since his sword broke. However, Yamamoto fends off Yhwach’s attack by awakening the ones he killed before, heating their ashes with his blade. Many skeletons start emerging from the ground and make their way toward Yhwach. Through the skeletons, Yhwach begins seeing his former subordinates. Yamamoto mentions he hasn’t shown his full power yet, even from their fight a thousand years ago. Eventually, he manages to slice Yhwach. However, Yhwach suddenly apologizes, surprising Yamamoto. The Yhwach that Yamamoto fought turned out to be a Stern Ritter. The real Yhwach appears and says he met with Aizen in the underground prison. He steals Yamamoto’s Bankai and slices his shoulder with his sword.
