Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 5 Recap
Through an announcement, the ones fighting at Soul Society find out Ichigo is coming. However, Akon notices that something is wrong. Suddenly, Jidanbo begins attacking the Research and Development Institute. Ichigo is unable to get out of Quilge’s trap. Meanwhile, he overhears everything that’s going on through Akon’s call. Before Quilge could attack the rest, something cuts him in half. During his fight with As, Byakuya eventually feels the effects of fear. He tries to fight back, but As uses Byakuya’s Bankai against him. Before Renji can attack, Mask appears and kicks him away.
Elsewhere, Kenpachi catches up to Yhwach. On the other hand, Ichigo is still trying to get out of the trap he’s in. Driscoll corners Hisagi, and Hisagi finds out Driscoll killed Sasakibe. Before Driscoll can hit Hisagi, Yamamoto shows up. Driscoll uses Sasakibe’s Bankai against Yamamoto but fails. Yamamoto reflects on the earlier days with Sasakibe. With one slash, Yamamoto burns Driscoll to ashes. The rest feel Yamamoto’s anger as he joins the battle. This motivates the other captains and lieutenants to get back up.
