One Piece Episode 1039 Recap
Otama makes an announcement from the Performance Floor, and the ones who ate her dango begin switching sides. They start attacking their former allies, surprising the samurai side. Nami and Usopp commend Otama, and they cheer her on. Queen notices the noise and prepares an attack targeting them. However, Sanji intervenes. Queen curses him and calls him “son of Judge.” Sanji asks if Queen was also a member of MADS, a mad scientist team. Queen notes that was a long time ago. He then changes forms, emphasizing he’s a cyborg.
Sanji asks Chopper if Zoro will be alright. Due to the Rumble Ball’s side effects, Chopper is currently an old man and a baby. Meanwhile, Miyagi tells Chopper about medicine from Zou that’s considered a super healer. It’ll heal Zoro’s injuries, but later on, he’ll suffer twice the damage. Zoro tells them to give him the medicine since he needs to return to the battle. Meanwhile, Speed goes to Otama, Nami, and Usopp.
Elsewhere, Jimbei notices some of his opponent’s abilities are used by the government’s intelligence agents. He mentions hearing a rumor about an imprisoned intelligence agent. Who’s Who says that 13 years ago, a Devil Fruit was stolen from a government ship. He was then surprised to see that it was Luffy who ate the stolen Gum-Gum Fruit.
