Overlord 4 Episode 5 Recap
Demiurge tells Albedo he wants to discuss something with Ainz. Albedo informs him that Ainz is at the Dwarven Kingdom. She also thinks Ainz is unsatisfied with Demiurge’s plans. The two discuss the Empire becoming a vassal state. Demiurge is surprised to see a request from the Empire just after Ainz’s three-day visit. Ainz assigned Albedo and Demiurge to talk about what they should do with the Empire’s request. Demiurge feels incompetent for this task, but Albedo believes Ainz trusts him enough.
Meanwhile, Ainz prepares to head for the Dwarven Kingdom. He tells Cocytus and the others that he wishes to establish a friendly relationship with the dwarves. Plus, he wants the dwarven rune technology and some of their resources. He asks Zenberu, a Lizard Man, to help them go to the dwarves. In the middle of their conversation, Cocytus offers himself as a seat for Ainz. While preparing to depart, Shalltear talks to Aura about her feeling of incompetence. However, Aura assures her and says Ainz simply wants Shalltear to broaden her experiences.
Eventually, the group arrives at the entrance of the Dwarven Kingdom. Ainz asks Hanzo to inspect the area, and it turns out the city is abandoned. However, there is someone mining in the tunnels. Aura goes there and meets a dwarf named Gondo Firebeard. He tells her the people from Feo Raidho already live in a different city, Feo Jera. Shortly after, Ainz appears and introduces himself and the Kingdom’s objectives. Ainz and Gondo talk about rune technology. Gondo tells Ainz about how rune smithing almost died out due to magic casting. Gondo believes in the importance of keeping runecrafting alive. With that, Ainz offers the Sorcerer Kingdom’s support, but with compensation in return.
Upon returning to the city, Shalltear reports the sighting of Quagoa, demi-human creatures. Gondo tells her the Quagoa are why the dwarves had to move away. Ainz then orders Shalltear to capture the Quagoa and gather information. The leader tells them they’re serving the Clan Lord Riyuro. The leader says a separate group is probably on their way to destroying the dwarves.
