American production company SK Global will be collaborating with Bandai Namco Pictures to produce an English live-action series based on Tiger & Bunny, Sunrise’s hit superhero anime.

The scriptwriter and showrunner is planned to be M. Raven Metzner, who wrote the 2005 film Elektra and season two of Marvel’s Netflix series Iron Fist. The series will be executive produced by Metzner as well, alongside Masayuki Ozaki, who executive produced the original anime. The live-action adaptation will be produced by John Penotti and Charlie Corwin, who are co-CEOs of SK Global, as well as the company’s president Marcy Ross, and production division executive Xian Li.
The original Tiger & Bunny anime series was released in 2011, followed by two films and a sequel anime series that is currently on Netflix. No release window has been set for the adaptation at this time.

“In a world where superheroes have corporate sponsors and are the stars of their own reality TV show, a new superhero team is born as the veteran hero Wild Tiger is assigned to be partners with rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr,” reads the series’ synopsis.
