Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night has received a new trailer, this time focusing on the introduction of the enigmatic Game Master that runs Aincrad.
Fans of the series will, of course, be familiar with who this character is, but the new trailer shows their declaration of the death game from Asuna’s point of view, unlike the original anime which was from Kirito’s point of view.

Sword Art Online Progressive is an adaptation of the light novel series of the same name, serving as an expanded retelling of the Aincrad story arc of the original Sword Art Online. This film is produced by A1 Pictures and directed by Ayako Kono, who previously worked on series like Your Lie in April, After the Rain, and Ace Attorney. The longtime actors of both characters return again, with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kirito and Haruka Tomatsu as Asuna.
Aria of a Starless Night premiers in Japan on Saturday, October 30, but will make its way west subbed and dubbed on December 3 thanks to Funimation. Ticket go on sale November 5 in the United States and Canada for both regular theaters and IMAX, and on November 9 for Australia and New Zealand. The film will also screen in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Latin America.
