In just a few months, My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission will hit theaters in Japan. With anticipation brewing for the latest film for the beloved anime series, brand new suits for protagonists Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki.
According to a post from Funimation, these new costumes are called “Stealth Suits.” Based on original designs from series creator Kohei Horikoshi, each suit sports some characteristic to each corresponding character. The post mentions the green stripes on Deku’s suit and Bakugo’s headpiece. Additionally, each suit has a head covering for “added sneakiness.”

My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission was revealed back in March alongside a short trailer. The Japanese animation studio Bones will be producing the anime.

This is the third film featuring the incredibly popular anime series. The first movie, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, released back in 2018, grossing $5.7 million at the US box office. My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising released in Japan in 2019 and North America in 2020. It earned approximately $2.5 million on opening day.
As mentioned above, My Hero Academia was created by Kohei Horikoshi and was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014. The first season of the anime launched in 2016 and has since been adapted in other media such as video games and films. Both the anime and manga are still ongoing.
My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission will be in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2021. A North American date has yet to be determined.
