The inauguration of Demon Slayer, as an anime in 2019, caused a worldwide craze among fans. In spite of being fully complete, it continues to dominate the rankings of best-selling books, selling millions of copies worldwide.
Muzan Kibutsuji, who also happens to be the demon king, was responsible for the death of Tanjiro Kamado’s bloodline. As a result of this killing, his sister Nezuko also transformed into a demon. Following his encounter with Giyu Tomioka, the reserved and melancholic Hashira Tanjiro joins forces. However, the series has progressed a lot now. After watching a plethora of Hashira and Twelve Kizuki, which characters are the strongest among all these?
Gyomei Himejima
Tanjiro and Inosuke Hashibira from the Demon Slayer Corps hold the opinion that Gyomei is the best swordsman among the Hashira. Gyomei is so demanding; with his combat technique, he is doing very well to an extent where the powerful Upper Moon 1 – Kokushibo has yet to see his likeness for over three centuries.
In addition, he possesses a unique technique called the Stone Breathing. This technique holds enough power to tremble even the most powerful foe, such as Kokushibo. In addition to this weapon, some of his character traits suggest he’s an all-rounder, such as using traditional weapons against his unique and deadly tactics.
Kokushibo
This character has been recently introduced in the series. There is little known about Kokushibo, how this makes him quite intriguing. He is the Upper-Rank One and one of the oldest demons that fans are aware of, besides the main antagonist, Muzan. His past is intricate, lengthy, and confusing.
He was so powerful that he rarely left a battle as the defeated. However, he was never quite able to shake the worries and insecurities of his human life. Being a demon for over 400 years couldn’t fix his emotional conflicts. In the end, these harboring emotions were the cause of his downfall.
Yoriichi
A mysterious character was introduced in the Entertainment District Arc of the series. This man was a Demon Slayer, Yoriichi Tsugikuni. The series depicted him through Tanjiro and it was some stellar foreshadowing. This man is a supporting character in the series. However, he is the center of the entire history of the Demon Slayer Corps.
He was the first breath user and also the creator of the legendary Sun Breathing style. All other breathing forms have originated from this initial style. He was the strongest Demon Slayer known to mankind. Being born with the Demon Slayer mark on his forehead, it simply showed how immensely powerful this man was.
Muzan Kibutsuji
He is one of the most powerful demons in Demon Slayer. Despite Yoriichi’s inhumane strength and brute force, his mortality exposed him to the natural ravages of old age. In contrast, Muzan’s perpetual youth and eternal life, along with his ability to be biokinesic, make him practically invincible. His tremendous set of powers and arsenal of skills make him a danger to even the most potent Hashira.
Muzan’s abilities transcend even further, enabling him to influence and modify demonic anatomy at the molecular level. Confronting him in solitary battle is practically impossible; only a unified front of mighty warriors has the potential to prevail against him. However, even the most potent Hashira pales in comparison to Muzan, the king of the demons.
Demon Tanjiro
While Tanjiro is a skilled swordsman in his field as a demon hunter, he is far from being the most influential figure in the series. However, when it comes to the Demon King avatar of Tanjiro, things take a very sharp turn. Indeed, Tanjiro transforms into a monster during Muzan’s desperate effort to survive. As a demon monarch, he released his destructive capacity, which might be very harmful if kept unrestrained.
Owing to Muzan, Tanjiro’s demon form has the quickest recovery and the power to reverse any physical attacks. Furthermore, Tanjiro has become more like his sister, Nezuko, who is resilient to the sun, making him unstoppable for any human. Furthermore, his Blood Demon, which appears similar to Muzan, made him more potent than any demon in existence.
