The anime adaptation for Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian was announced to have a spring 2024 release date. As the series is almost upon our door, several critical aspects of it have been revealed, too. These include a premiere window, critical visuals for the show, and character visuals.
Doga Kobo will be producing this series, as announced previously. The episode count for the series has yet to be revealed. So, it would be challenging to assume how much of the source material is going to be covered in the first season. However, there are specific prerequisites required before jumping right into this anime adaptation of SunSunSun’s original light novel.
A walkthrough of Alya Sometimes Hide Her Feelings in Russian
Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is also called Roshidere in short. Yen Press distributes the light novels.
The first volume of the series introduces Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou in Seiren Private Academy. She is considered to be some sort of a solitary princess. She bears half-Russian genes, which explains her impeccable beauty, silver hair, being at the top of her class, being a student council accountant, and having a completely unapproachable nature.
However, she seems intrigued by the slacker who sits next to her. Masachika Kuze constantly frustrates her by falling asleep, forgetting his textbooks, and just being a nuisance overall.
Alisa seems to be putting on a tough act, and despite her annoyance towards Masachika, she doesn’t mind him. As a matter of fact, an extract from the first volume reads, “She even lets him call her by her nickname, Alya.”
The craziest part about the plot is that Alya mutters a lot of stuff in Russian under her breath. Those are valid feelings, but since no one understands her language, she’s free to say whatever she likes! However, the plot twists as there is someone in the class who understands her every word.
This is no one other than Masachika. He eavesdrops on her embarrassing revelations, pretending to be clueless, all the while wondering what her flirtatious comments actually mean.

The official X (formerly known as Twitter) statement reads, “A teaser visual for the TV anime ‘Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian’ has been released. ‘But she doesn’t know that I can speak Russian.'” This post was made to look like it was from the perspective of the main character, Masachika Kuze. He is voiced by Kohei Amasaki.
The cast members include Sumire Uesaka (Alya), Aizawa Saya (Ayano Kimishima), Yukiyo Fujii (Marsha), and Wakana Maruoka (Yuki Suo). Aizawa, Yukiyo, and Wakana expressed their gratitude to the fans. The latter even teased fans about what they should expect from Yuki.
The series will be produced by the studio Doga Kobo, which is highly acclaimed for its stellar work adapting Oshi no Ko. Ryota Itou will direct the series and also supervised the first episode of Oshi no Ko. Along with him are Chief Animation Director Yūhei Murota and Ryō Kobayashi as Series Producer.
