Kang Tae-Shik is what we call “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.” He hides his immense bloodlust behind a masquerade. His evil takes over his hunter’s heart and drives him to become a cynical killer. He was initially introduced as a member of the Hunter Association’s Surveillance Team. However, in Solo Leveling episode 9, it becomes clear that he isn’t just a corrupted official but a ruthless hitman, too.
Kang Tae-Shik’s first appearance in Solo Leveling Episode 3
He is originally introduced as a side character in Solo Leveling. Early on, it is established that he is a high-ranking official in the Hunter Association.
He is first introduced to us in episode 3 of the anime series. He was assigned to check on the protagonist with his colleague Jin-Chul after the Cartenon Temple Double Dungeon incident. It appeared to be a normal agent with a diligent and quiet personality.
Even though he can be seen wearing a poker face for most of the time, there is an evil, sadistic glee that spreads across his face when presented with the chance to kill someone. In the later part of Solo Leveling, he could be seen quickly disposing of the criminals he was assigned to overlook. However, before he could complete his contract by killing the last criminal, Sung Jin-Woo and others stumble upon the scene.
What are Kang Tae-Shik’s abilities?
Tae-Shik is a B-Rank Assassin-Type hunter. This allows him to move at an insanely fast pace. We saw him using his inhumane agility to defeat Song Chi-Yul. And to put his speed into perception, the latter had received a strength buff from Joohee and still lost to Tae-Shik.
He was on par with Jin-Woo and even endured the toxic effects of Kasaka’s Venom Fang.
Being an Assassin-Type hunter, he can also camouflage with his surroundings using a skill called Stealth. He can cover all his traces, which means he can essentially turn himself both physically and magically invisible.
