Clans are an essential part of Naruto, but fans often need to remember that as the series progresses further, the concept of clans gets overshadowed by powerful techniques. There are specific abilities, Kekkei Genkai, that only people from certain clans can use.
Before villages in Naruto came to formation, clans were mainly busy waging war against each other. However, following the formation of villages, clans stopped fighting and decided to settle down. Furthermore, reduced battles between clans led to a smaller number of casualties. The series witnessed several clans, but only a few managed to engrave their legacy.
1. Otsutsuki Clan
The most powerful and undoubtedly strongest in the entire Naruto series is the Otsutsuki clan. They don’t belong to Earth and are extraterrestrial forms of life. They descended on Earth hundreds of years ago. The first prominent members of this clan were Kaguya and Isshiki. The members of the Otsutsuki clan are knowledgeable about all kinds of abilities.
2. Uchiha Clan
One of the most notorious clans in Naruto is the Uchiha clan, which consists of a wide variety of ninjas. Some of the most talented ninjas belonged to this clan. It boasts talents like Itachi, Sasuke, Madara, and Obito. They’re known for their ocular Kekkei Genkai, Sharingan, which is one of the three Great Dojutsu. Madara Uchiha led the clan during the Warring States Period. He decided to form an alliance with the Senju clan after losing many people that he was close to. Along with Hashirama Senju, both of these legendary ninjas founded the Hidden Leaf Village.
3. Uzumaki Clan
The Uzumaki clan was once known to be the strongest clan in the world back in the day. Their name was respected throughout the world due to their sealing techniques and incredible vitality. Clans from all over the world feared their power and decided to crush the Uzumakis by joining forces with each other. The members of the clan were slaughtered, and the survivors ran away from Uzoshiogakure.
4. Senju Clan
The Senju were one of the most powerful clans during the Warring States Period. The Senju are the descendants of Asura Otsutsuki, the youngest son of Hagoromo Otsutsuki, and is the only clan that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the Uchiha clan.
The Hidden Leaf Village was born from the truce of both of these clans. A quite interesting fact is that the Senju have produced more Hokage candidates than any other clan. The most significant members of the clan are Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, and Tsunade Senju.
5. Hyuga Clan
The Hyuga clan is one of the most well-structured clans in the entire Naruto series. They’re divided into two houses. The main house is where the leader of the clan is chosen, and the branch house exists to protect the clan.
This clan is known for its ocular Kekkei Genkai, Byakugan, which is one of the three Great Dojutsu. This eye allows the user to see the chakra pathway system of another individual. To squeeze out every ounce of power from their Byakugan, the Hyuga developed the Gentle Fist, which allows them to hit the Tenketsu effectively, rendering their opponent useless.
