Variety is reporting that actor Stacy Keach (American History X, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm) has signed on to appear in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s upcoming sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
Keach will play mob boss Wallenquist, aka “The Kraut.” Series creator Miller describes the character as “the one man who can’t be redeemed in Sin City. He is pure evil.”
Also on board for the Dimension Films release are Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Dennis Haysbert, Jamie Chung, Chris Meloni, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Jeremy Piven, Julia Garner, Bruce Willis and Eva Green as Ava Lord.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For weaves together two of Frank Miller’s classic stories with new tales in which the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants. In the film, Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to “The Big Fat Kill” and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be shown in 2D and 3D theaters on October 4, 2013.
