In the previous episode of Netflix’s Insatiable, Stella Rose had given Patty ammunition to destroy the Armstrongs’ marriage in the form of a necklace. The next episode has Patty torn about what to do with it.
Gymacide
At the gym preparing for Patty’s qualifying pageant, Armstrong discovered that it was cancelled. Meanwhile, the Barnards lamented over Etta Mae’s dismissal from Junior League because of her long working hours. Together, the Barnards and Armstrongs decided to form their own society called Working Mothers Benevolent Society (W.M.B.S., pronounced “wombs”). The first big event would be a symbolic mother-daughter pageant. Coralee could participate with Patty, giving her a societal push upwards. Additionally, Patty would have the opportunity to qualify for Miss Magic Jesus.
Bigger Problems
The Armstrongs received a traffic ticket in the mail complete with a photo of Brick and Regina. Now aware of the affair, Armstrong had to meet with Barnard to discuss the eventual case. Meanwhile, Regina was still propositioning Brick, even after he refused, citing his rekindled relationship with Magnolia. Regina should really just stop.
Wiener Taco
For Coralee and Patty to make a convincing mother-daughter pair, they had to get to know each other. To bond, Coralee took her to Wiener Taco where Angie works. Angie revealed that Coralee had grown up in the trailer next door. Upset about her exclusion from the pageant, Angie berated Patty. To cheer her up, Coralee encouraged her by sharing her past with Patty.
Nobody Puts Bobby in a Corner
After discussing the Regina situation, the Bobs planned their routine as MCs for the pageant. They decided on singing “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” but disagreed on who got to be Patrick Swayze. The two had a heart-to-heart about their past as former friends, and Armstrong agreed to be Jennifer Grey.
Sabotage
Of course, Regina and Dixie couldn’t help themselves backstage at the pageant. They wrote “whore” and “hore” on Coralee’s and Patty’s dresses. Fortunately, Armstrong had a plan and used his caboodle to write more slurs on their dresses. The women played it off as taking them back, winning over the crowd.
Weekend State of Mind
Angie manipulated Nonnie, whose mother had passed away, into entering the pageant with her. Nonnie was conflicted, as she was betraying Patty, but she had always been left out of mother-daughter events. She met up with Donald to talk, claiming they were friends. Donald was surprised, but for being a weird and perverted guy, he seemed to be a good friend to Nonnie. I’ll keep you updated.
“It’s a Georgia Peach, Y’all!”
Angie’s mother could not handle seeing Patty with Coralee and ended up getting drunk backstage, ending their bid for the title. Without Etta Mae and Magnolia competing, Coralee and Patty’s main competition were Regina and Dixie. But after crushing the interview question and carving a mean topiary, Coralee and Patty took home the crowns. Predictably, Regina acted out, cuing the police to arrive and arrest her publicly for statutory rape.
Grenade
With the competition out of the way, Coralee was no longer kind to Patty. But Patty had the last say and dropped the grenade Stella Rose gave her in the previous episode: the necklace.
