Oscar-winning director Werner Herzog is teaming up with Hyde Park Entertainment to bring to life Greg Grandin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Fordlandia: The Rise and Fall of Henry Ford’s Forgotten Jungle City. Set to be adapted into a TV series, Herzog will direct the entire series.
Adapted for television by Oscar-nominee Christopher Wilkinson (Miles Ahead), the series tells the true story of the richest man in the world in the ’20s, Henry Ford, and his attempt to recreate small-town America deep in the heart of the Amazon. Hyde Park’s Ashok Amritraj (99 Homes) and Herzog (Rescue Dawn) are serving as executive producers, with Addison Mehr and Priya Amritraj co-producing the project.

Herzog is well-known more for his documentary work, including the acclaimed Grizzly Man and Encounters at the End of the World, while also having delivered some well-received theatrical pieces including Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and Rescue Dawn.
