Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter talk about the potential for Bill & Ted 3
Entertainment Weekly talked with Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter about whether or not there is a possibility that a Bill & Ted 3 will be developed and produced in the future.
Throughout the course of the interview, Reeves and Winter admit that the film sequel has been in development for over a decade. The original Bill & Ted writers, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, had initially approached the duo with the prospect of a third film. Unfortunately, even though the pair liked the writing duo’s initial concept, there were a lot of hoops to jump through to get through the development process.
There have been rumors for years about the project, but nothing has come to fruition yet. Rejections have kept the team from reaching the production point.
They do have a script ready to go roughly titled Bill & Ted Face the Music. The plot has been described as Bill and Ted meets A Christmas Carol, where they are forced to look at their lives and rediscover what it is they want to do so they don’t live with regrets. There is a promise of cameos, but none that were listed. There is a plan to bring Bill Sadler back. Reeves and Winter have found their director in Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest).
Steven Soderbergh is one of the producers lined up for the project. He will be joining Scott Kroopf.
The team hopes that within the next month or so, they will have affirmative news to broadcast about the proposed sequel Bill & Ted 3. Until then, the project will still continue to make the rounds and continue to be developed.
