The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star will unleash his inner Bad Boy in the untitled drama pilot
The Hollywood Reporter reported today that Zach McGowan will be joining NBC‘s untitled Bad Boys spinoff as the main villain. He will be joining Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba.
Zach McGowan is most recently known for his role as Ice Nation King Roan in CW’s post-apocalyptic drama The 100. He has also starred in the shows Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Black Sails, and Shameless. McGowan will be playing Ray Sherman, a slick-suited nightclub owner who is not afraid of a little hustle.
The Bad Boys spinoff revolves around LAPD homicide detective Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union, reprising her role from Bad Boys II) getting a fresh start in her new job. She is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mom who can’t help but look at Syd’s freedom with some grass-is-greener envy. Both are at the top of their field in the action-packed character-driven procedural.
McGowan’s character has a violent encounter with Union’s Syd Burnett, who is looking for a criminal he is apparently in business with.
The untitled Bad Boys drama was written by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis (The Blacklist). The project is coming from Sony Pictures Television, Jerry Bruckheimer Television, Primary Wave, and 2.0 Entertainment.
McGowan has recently wrapped USA Network’s Damnation, which will be streaming internationally through Netflix. He has Death Race: Beyond Anarchy and Universal’s Scorpion King: Book of Souls that will be coming up. Bad Boys is currently in the process of shooting.
