The CW has announced that actor Colton Haynes will return to Arrow in the role of Roy Harper, the archer-protégé of Oliver Queen who previously exited the series in season three (and briefly returned in season four).
“We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper for a short arc on ‘Arrow’ this year,” executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle said. “Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”
Arrow is currently on hiatus until the new year and will return with an all-new episode on Thursday, January 18.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. Manu Bennett is back as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, and his son, Joe Wilson, will be played by Liam Hall. Juliana Harkavy is playing Dinah Drake, David Nykl portrays Anatoly Knyazev, with Michael Emerson is as Cayden James, and Kirk Acevedo stars as Ricardo Diaz, aka Richard Dragon.
Based on the DC characters, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Wendy Mericle and Sarah Schechter. Arrow is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
