Dean Parisot appears set to take over RED 2, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Robert Schwentke directed the 2010 original which, in turn, was based on a comic book by Warren Ellis and Cully Hammer.
Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren are all expected to reprise their roles as a team of CIA operatives who are classified “Retired, Extremely Dangerous”.
Parisot is best known for directing 1999’s Galaxy Quest. His last theatrical feature was 2005’s Fun with Dick and Jane.
The Summit Entertainment release is expected to enter production later this year, targeting an August 2, 2013 release.
