Act of Valor, Relativity’s war drama starring real Navy SEALS, isn’t out until February 24, but the film’s directors, Scott Waugh and Mike “Mouse” McCoy, collectively known as the Bandito Brothers, have already lined up another project called High Speed for Waugh to direct.
Written by Greg Russo, the stylized car chase film is set in the world of underground racing centering around high-speed police pursuit drivers trying to stop a high-end underground racing circuit running dangerous races in major cities.
Like Act of Valor, the film’s financing will be put together solely by the Bandito Brothers production company, which includes Max Leitman and Jay Pollak, although they will have a script and possibly a demo reel for Cannes in order to help get that financing. Production probably won’t start until 2013 as Waugh and McCoy will be making an Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie called Black Sands starting this summer.
The film’s screenwriter Greg Russo has a couple of other projects in development, including Heatseekers at Paramount with Platinum Dunes, Autobahn fka I-95, a film to be directed by Ghost Rider‘s Mark Steven Johnson, and Down, which is set up at Relativity Media with Marcel Langenegger directing.
Look for ComingSoon.net’s interview with the Bandito Brothers (where they wouldn’t tell us anything about their next project) sometime early next week.
