Will Forte has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s upcoming sci-fi comedy Neighborhood Watch, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.
Set to be directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod), the film tells of a neighborhood watch crew that is secretly an excuse for local men to hang out together. Things take a turn for the serious, though, when the team accidentally uncovers a plot to destroy the world.
Forte, best known for his work on “Saturday Night Live” and for his spinoff film MacGruber, joins Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade. Little is known about his character, thought the role is listed as “Sergeant Bressman.”
Originally set for Will Ferrell to star, David Dobkin, Shawn Levy and Peter Segal were all named to helm the project since it was first rumored in 2008. Most recently, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were brought aboard to rewrite the script.
