Columbia Pictures has set Kathryn Bigelow’s still-untitled next film to hit theaters on October 12, 2012.
The project, which reunites Bigelow with The Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal, deals with a black ops SEAL team and was recently updated to include the successful operation that took down Osama bin Laden.
The film, said to feature a part for Joel Edgerton, is still casting and should enter production shortly.
Boal and Bigelow will produce the project, along with Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison, and executive producer Greg Shapiro.
