CBS Films announced today that they have secured the rights to William Penick and Chris Sey’s original screenplay, Hellfest. Gale Anne Hurd (“The Walking Dead,” Aliens, The Terminator) developed the project and will produce through her Valhalla Entertainment. Penick and Sey wrote the script from a concept by Valhalla’s Ben Roberts, who will serve as executive producer.
In Hellfest, a Halloween night of fun turns deadly at America’s premier theme park when an actual costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe it’s all part of the show.
“Chris and William have written a terrific script,” said Hurd. “I am beyond excited to work with CBS Films, who have the same vision for the project as we have.”
Vice President of Production Mark Ross and Creative Executive Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.
