IFC’s The Devil’s Dolls Expands Internationally

Possession horror flick The Devil’s Dolls expands to international screens

Padraig Reynolds’ acclaimed possession horror film The Devil’s Dolls – not to be confused with the vintage Tod Browning chiller The Devil-Doll – is an intense shocker that opens today in select U.S. theaters (and most digital platforms) courtesy of indie horror heroes IFC Midnight.

The film looks at the ancient Guatemalan tradition of parents encouraging their kids to spill their troubles to handmade “worry dolls” (the film’s original title was in fact “Worry Dolls”). But the gentle, mystical practice is exploited by a bloodthirsty serial killer who refuses to go gently into that good night.

When one of the “worry dolls” ends up in the hands of the residents of a small Southern town, it sets off a grisly wave of bloodshed with possession being the name of the gory game.

Christopher Wiehl, Kym Jackson and Tina Lifford star in this bloody Southern Gothic fright fable.

Today, we learned that The Devil’s Dolls has now secured distribution in 40 International territories including the UK, Scandinavia, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Middle East, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. The film will also screen at the 2016 Sitges Film Festival in Spain.

This is great news for a truly chilling, innovative horror film that is heads at every other part above most mainstream contemporary horror offerings.

The Devil’s Dolls will hit DVD and Blu-ray on December 6, 2016.
