Dwayne Johnson (upcoming Fast Five) will star in the action-thriller Snitch for Exclusive Media Group, reports Variety.
Inspired by true events chronicled in a PBS “Frontline” documentary, the film centers on a devoted father whose son faces 30 years in prison after being set up in a drug deal. The father goes undercover in the drug world to make a bust that will free his son.
Ric Roman Waugh will direct and is rewriting a script by Justin Haythe. David Fanning and Gordon Gray are producing.
Filming is scheduled to start in June.
